Dust or Magic Asilomar

…where child development meets technology…

Do you design or evaluate children’s media (toys, games, video, apps) for ages birth-to 12-years?
How much do you know about how child development … how a child thinks, plays, learns language, uses a touch screen, and interacts with others?

I’m pleased to invite you to attend a three-day exploration of psychology and media — based on the latest products, and grounded around the core theories of constructivism, behaviorism, cognitive science and humanism (Jean Piaget, BF Skinner, Lev Vygotsky, Sarah Smilanski, Fred Rogers and others).

We use Zoom to expand the walls and the conversations.

Here are the details:

WHY ATTEND? We’ll playfully introduce you to each theory, as you build your own designers cookbook so that you can take what you learn back to your team. I’ve modeled this year’s agenda from previous Training of Trainers sessions I’ve conducted, so that you’ll be able to take what you learn and teach others. Here’s a look at the agenda.

WHEN: June 2 – 4, 2023 (4 PM on Friday, through lunch on Sunday).
